Centurion Engineers has a history of engineering excellence beginning in 1921 when Raymond J. Briggs established the firm as a sole proprietorship. His son Carlyle W. Briggs became a principal member in 1947 and the company name changed to Briggs & Associates. In 1970 Raymond Briggs retired and Carlyle and Maxine Briggs became the owners and continued the firm’s engineering services under the Briggs & Associates name. In 1978 the members of Briggs & Associates incorporated, and the name was shortened to B&A Engineers, Inc. As a tribute to the firm’s 100-year long history and to all its former owners, we changed the name to Centurion Engineers, Inc. effective October 1, 2021.
From the beginning, we focused our efforts on different endeavors that met the needs of the time. Early in our history, we successfully designed highways, bridges, dams and airports. When residential development intensified in the mid 1980s, our firm became more involved with land planning and land development projects. We continue to provide a variety of services to our clients today with small- and large-scale projects that include residential, commercial, and industrial uses. Nearly all our projects come to us through long-time client relationships going back years if not decades. When we take on new clients, it is not based on how much money we might make. It is based on the relationship we can make and the innovation we can bring to the project.
